LADY FLASHES BLANK GIRARD

WARREN, OH- The Girard Lady Indians  struggled to get their offense going on Thursday, managing only two hits and getting dispatched by Champion, 10-0.

One bright spot for the Lady Indians was a single by Sahan Dede in the first inning.

Sophie Howell led things off on the rubber for Champion. She allowed two hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out nine.

Samantha Dohy led things off in the pitcher’s circle for Girard. She surrendered ten runs on 11 hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out one.  Dede and Mackayla Durr each managed one hit to lead the Lady Tribe.

Champion saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Allison Smith and Cassidy Shaffer each had multiple hits for Champion. Champion was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Gabby Hollenbaugh made the most plays with ten.
