LADY INDIANS DOWN DEVILS LATE

GIRARD, OH-The Girard Lady Indians took the lead late in the game in a 5-4 victory over McDonald on Saturday. The game was tied at four with Girard batting in the bottom of the fifth when Mackayla Durr laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run.

The Lady Tribe earned the victory despite allowing McDonald to score three runs in the fifth inning. McDonald scored its runs on a fielder’s choice by  Wolford.  McDonald got on the board in the first inning when an error scored one run for McDonald.

Samantha Dohy led things off in the circle for Girard. She went seven innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out three.  Sophie Griffith led Girard with two hits in two at-bats.
