LADY JAYS LIGHT UP THE SCOREBOARD AGAINST LOWELLVILLE

LOWELLVILLE, OH- The Lady Jays traveled to Lowellville this afternoon for, yes another, doubleheader. To start game one, Kylie Wilson hit a grounder up the middle followed by a double by Grace Johns. Macayle Thornhill kept it going as she singled to right scoring Kylie. Paige Grope earned herself a double to left field with an RBI making the score 3-0 in the first inning. The defense held Lowellville and got back to the plate where Mia Greco walked, Chelsea Williams singled and Kylie Wilson got on by an error. Emily Fultz hit a hard ground ball earning an RBI followed by a single by Grace Johns. The Lady Jays scored three more that inning and one more in the third earning the win 7-0. Grace Johns led the team going 2-for-3 with a single and a double.

Macayle Thornhill was on the rubber for the first game allowing only two hits, walking one, and striking out four.

 

The Lady Jays continued their hitting in the second game when they scored three runs in the first inning. They scored two more in the second when Mia Greco singled and Chelsea Williams tripled. Grace Johns hit a single and worked her way to third on an error at first. Macayle Thornhill grounded out scoring Grace. That Lady Jays took the second game 6-0. This time, Chelsea Williams led going 2-for-3 with a walk, a triple, and a single.

Macayle Thornhill continued in the circle for the first two innings where she didn’t allow any hits, walked one and struck out four out of seven batters faced. Sarah Rader came in relief allowing one hit, walking one and striking out one.

The Lady Jays are now 10-5 overall and 8-2 in the league. They will travel to Springfield for another MVAC match-up on Monday May 2nd at 5:00.
