LADY RAIDERS FALL SHORT AT URSULINE

In maybe the most anticipated game left on their regular season schedule the Lady Raiders traveled to Ursuline for a rematch with the Irish. The Raiders won 54-49 earlier in the season.

The game started as everyone expected, back and forth. Both teams were deadlocked at 12 by the end of the first 8 minutes. Five different Raiders scored in the first quarter.

In the 2nd quarter the Irish began to build a lead. Lead by Dayshanette Harris who scored 14 points in the frame and finished with 30. Two threes by Bri Modic helped keep the Raiders in striking distance but they would take a 33-25 deficit into the locker room.

The third quarter was when the Raiders went to work, opening the frame on a 12-2 run to take a 37-35 lead. Maddie Durkin scored 12 of the Raiders 20 points in the frame. The Raiders held the Irish to 8 points in third jumping out to a 45-41 lead after 3.

Various injuries to different Raiders took some momentum out of the Raiders sails in the 4th as the Irish scrapped back to a 50-49 lead with 2:21 left in the game. The Raiders were able to retake a 51-50 lead but that would be their last as the Irish forced 3 turnovers in the last minute on route to a 59-53 win over the Raiders

The Lady Raiders were lead by Maddie Durkin who finished with a double double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Izzy Lamparty added 12. The Lady Raiders return to action Thursday as they travel to Mooney for another road rematch.
