LADY RAIDERS WIN THIRD STRAIGHT

The Lady Raiders opened their home schedule with a 58-47 win over Salem tonight.

The Raiders once again started strong, opening up a 14-0 lead before the Quakers could blink. They dominated the 1st quarter with suffocating defense. Bree Kohler got a steal and fast-break layup to give the Raiders their 14-0 run before Salem ended it with a free throw. The 1st quarter came to an end with the Raiders leading 17-3.

Salem would fight back in the 2nd going on a 10-3 run and cutting the Raider lead to 20-13 within the first 3 minutes. The post presence from freshman Danielle Vuletich helped put the Raiders back into a comfortable lead at 30-18 going into halftime.

The Raiders and Quakers went back and forth in the third, but freshman Izzy Lamparty was able to help keep the Raiders in the lead, then with just over 3 minutes left in the 3rd, Maddie Durkin buried a three to put the Raiders back up by double digits 39-27. The lead would stay at 12 at the end of 3 with the score 41-29.

Bree Kohler struck again early in the 4th quarter stepping into another passing lane and finishing on the fast break to give the Raiders their largest lead since the 1st quarter at 47-33. The Raiders never looked back from that point and finished off Salem with a final score of 58-47.

The balanced Raiders offense had 3 scorers in double figures tonight. Maddie Durkin lead the way with 19 points while Izzy Lamparty had 14 and Bri Modic finished with 11. The Lady Raiders are now 3-0 and will return to action Saturday as they host Newton Falls. JV will start at 5:00.
