LADY WARRIORS BATTLE TO VICTORY OVER URSULINE

YOUNGSTOWN, OH- The Youngstown Ursuline Lady Irish hosted the West Branch Warriors on Wednesday night at the Cafaro Gymnasium. The Lady Irish entered the contest fresh off a victory against the Canton Central Catholic Crusaders, while West Branch entered off a 62-point throttling of the Alliance Aviators. West Branch entered the game with an average margin of victory of 24.8. This game would be more of the same.

West Branch would catch fire early, and never look back. The Lady Irish fell to West Branch 73-23. Annisah Moorman led the Lady Irish in scoring, with 10 points to her credit. Moorman also led in rebounds with 7. 

West Branch had two players score in double figures over the course of the game. Hannah Ridgway led West Branch with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Jillian Pidgeon cashed in with 11 points, to go along with 1 rebound. 

Overall, West Branch was 45% from the field, and 37% from the 3-point line. The Lady Irish were 28% from the field and only 25% from beyond the arc. The Lady Irish were 4 of 9 from the free-throw stripe, while West Branch was 2 of 4. West Branch outrebounded the Lady Irish, 36 to 20. 

For Ursuline, Anisah Moorman scored 10 and had six boards.

The Lady Irish fall to 5-10 overall, with their next matchup coming on Wednesday, as they face their rival, the Youngstown Cardinal Mooney Cardinals, at the Cafaro Gymnasium. West Branch improves to an impressive 11-2, with a rematch with the Marlington Dukes on the horizon.
