LAKEVIEW BOWS OUT OF SECTIONALS IN EXTRAS

Tuesday’s game against Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin was a heartbreaker for Lakeview, as they lost the lead late in a 6-5 defeat. The game was tied at five with Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin batting in the top of the ninth when Raegan Schick’s wild pitch allowed one run to score.

Lakeview lost despite out-hitting Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin ten to nine.

In the first inning, Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin got their offense started when they doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Lakeview tied things up at five. Hallie Capan hit a solo homer.

The Bulldogs tallied three runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower was led by Reagan Price and Makenna Werner, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Dutton led things off in the pitcher’s circle for Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin. The hurler allowed ten hits and five runs over nine innings, striking out four.

Ava Bacon led things off in the circle for Lakeview. Bacon surrendered five runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out five. Ella Chadwick and Schick entered the game as relief, throwing two and a third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Lakeview tallied one home run on the day. Capan put one out in the sixth inning.

Lakeview had ten hits in the game. Kylie Imes, Gianna Caruso, and Capan all collected multiple hits. Capan, Caruso, and Imes all had two hits to lead. Imes led Lakeview with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with ten stolen bases.
