LAKEVIEW EARNS QUICK SWEEP OF THE DRAGONS

CORTLAND OH— The Lakeview Bulldogs brought the bats and left no doubt on Monday, sweeping a doubleheader against Niles with a combined score of 33-0. Powered by Mackenzie Stowe’s monster day at the plate and lights-out pitching from Ava Bacon, Isabella Isenberg, and Jianna Shaker, Lakeview flexed on both ends of the field.

Game 1: Lakeview 17, Niles 0

The opener was a one-way street. Stowe wasted no time making her presence felt, launching a two-run homer in the first and another bomb in the second, finishing with six RBI in the game. Lakeview poured it on early and often, racking up seven runs in the third and cruising to a run-rule win.

Ava Bacon was dominant in the circle, punching out 15 while giving up just two hits in a complete game shutout. The Bulldogs were sharp defensively and didn’t commit a single error.

Bartlett and Isenberg each had multiple hits, while Stowe also tripled and made plays all over the field.

Game 2: Lakeview 16, Niles 0

If game one wasn’t enough, Lakeview kept the pedal down in the nightcap—and Stowe wasn’t done. She crushed two more homers (both in the first two innings), adding five more RBI to her ridiculous day.

The second inning was an all-out blitz. Lakeview dropped 13 runs behind a parade of hits. Kalyssa Werner drove in three, Hallie Capan sent one over the fence, and everyone in the lineup chipped in. By the end, Lakeview had stacked up 21 hits.

Werner led the charge out of the leadoff spot, going 4-for-4 with two stolen bases. Bartlett, Bacon, Collins, Isenberg, and Barnot all had multiple knocks.

On the rubber, Isenberg and Shaker combined for another shutout. Isenberg struck out five over two innings, and Shaker mowed down nine in three scoreless frames.

With the sweep, Lakeview sends a message—they’re dialed in and dangerous. Next up, they hit the road for a matchup with Struthers on Wednesday.
