LAKEVIEW PUSHES DUKES TO THE BRINK BUT FALLS IN WALK OFF

It came down to the last play, but Lakeview was on the wrong end of a 12-11 defeat to Marlington on Thursday. The game was tied at 11 with Marlington batting in the bottom of the seventh when Emma Jackson singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Lakeview fell behind by four runs in the fourth inning, but then tried to fight back. The Bulldogs put up six runs in the failed comeback. Mariah Tackett, Olivia Easton, Maggie Pavlansky, Gianna Caruso, Kylie Imes, and Raegan Schick came through with RBIs to lead the rally.

Lakeview put up three runs in the third inning. Imes had an RBI home run in the inning to lead the run scoring.

Marlington scored six runs in the third inning. They scored their runs on a error by Ashlyn Maurer.

Maurer was credited with the victory for Marlington. The bulldog lasted one inning, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out one and walking one.
