LAKEVIEW SPLITS SATURDAY TWIN BILL

GAME 1

Lakeview managed through a push by Padua Franciscan in the first inning where they coughed up three runs, but Lakeview still won 16-5 on Saturday.

Lakeview secured the victory thanks to 11 runs in the third inning. Their offense in the inning was led by Olivia Kelm, Olivia Easton, Sammy Aey, Mariah Tackett, Kylie Imes, and Raegan Schick, all driving in runs in the inning.

Lakeview took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Easton singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Imes singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

The Bulldogs tallied 11 runs in the third inning. The offensive firepower  was led by Kelm, Easton, Aey, Tackett, Imes, and Schick, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Ella Chadwick got the win for Lakeview. The bulldog surrendered five runs on nine hits over three innings, striking out two and walking zero. Schick threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Schick recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Lakeview Bulldogs Varsity.

Lakeview collected 11 hits on the day. Aey, Gianna Caruso, Easton, and Abbie Campana all managed multiple hits. Aey led with three hits in four at bats. Lakeview Bulldogs Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Caruso made the most plays with four.

GAME 2

Lakeview fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 10-1 loss to Field on Saturday. Field scored on a home run in the first inning, a single in the second inning, and a single in the second inning.

The Bulldogs struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Field, giving up ten runs.

Field scored three runs in the fourth inning. It was propelled with three RBIs in the inning.

Ella Chadwick was in the circle for Lakeview. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing 11 hits and nine runs while striking out two and walking zero. Raegan Schick threw four innings in relief.

Field mashed two home runs on the day.

Gianna Caruso went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Bulldogs in hits.
