LAKEVIEW STARTING TO SMELL CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

HUBBARD, OHIO- The Hubbard Eagles watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 9-0 loss to the Lakeview Bulldogs on Thursday as the Bulldogs got started early when they scored on a error in the first inning, a single by Andrew Brown in the second inning, a double by Tyler Capan in the second inning, a single by Gino Lazzari in the second inning, and a double by Alex Stowe in the second inning. 


Hubbard struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing the Bulldogs, giving up nine runs.

Brown was the winning pitcher on the mound as the bulldog surrendered zero runs on one hit over five and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Matthew DeProfio threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Ryan Murray led the Eagles with one hit in one at bat while Gabe Rusnak took the loss on the mound as the righty allowed seven hits and eight runs over five innings, striking out three.

Hubbard and Lakeviw will face off once again on Friday at 5:00.
