LAKEVIEW TAGS CHAMPION FOR BIG WIN

CORTLAND OH- Lakeview shook off an early punch and answered with plenty of their own on Thursday, grinding out a 7-3 win over Champion.

The Flashes struck first, putting up two in the top of the first behind a Taylor Rouan RBI single and a groundout from Jonna Strock that brought home another. Gabby Gradishar added a bases-loaded walk in the second to give Champion a short-lived 3-2 lead.

But Lakeview had no interest in playing from behind for long. Kennedy Bartlett ripped a double to spark the first-inning response, and Isabella Isenberg drove her in with a base knock to even things up. Isenberg came up big again in the third with another RBI single, and Ella Collins added a sac fly to give Lakeview a 4-3 edge they wouldn’t give back.

Isenberg did more than swing it—she went the distance in the circle, scattering six hits and fanning six across seven strong innings to pick up the win.

Lakeview’s sticks stayed hot. They racked up 11 hits, with Bartlett going 3-for-4 out of the leadoff spot. Isenberg knocked in three, going 2-for-3 on the day. Rylee Barnot and Mackenzie Stowe each chipped in with a pair of hits.

Gradishar held her own for Champion, striking out eight over six innings and going 2-for-2 at the plate with an RBI. Rouan also drove in a run with a first-inning single. Lakeview gets back at it Friday with a matchup against Girard.
