STRUTHERS, OH- Monday’s game against Girard was a heartbreaker for the Struthers Wildcats, as they lost the lead late in an 8-2 defeat. The game was tied at two with Girard batting in the top of the fifth when Anthony Cortese singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs and locking the win for the Indians.
The Struthers Wildcats struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Girard, giving up eight runs.
Girard got things moving in the first inning. Braydon Freeland drove in one when he singled. Girard scored four runs in the sixth inning. Freeland, Devin Dutton, and Aidan Warga all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
