LATE RUNS LET PIRATES ESCAPE URSULINE

PERRY OH- Perry found some late magic Monday, knocking off Ursuline 4-2 after a wild sixth inning.

Ursuline struck first, getting on the board in the third when Lauren O’Leary grounded out to bring a run home. The Irish held that 1-0 lead until the sixth, but that’s when the Pirates made their move.

Arianna Rogers ripped a double to center to tie it up, and a costly Ursuline error let two more runs score, swinging the momentum hard to Perry’s side.

Madelyn Rupert picked up the win in the circle, tossing six innings and giving up just five hits and two runs (one earned). She struck out two and walked two. Emma Davies threw well for Ursuline, punching out seven over six innings, but took the tough-luck loss after Perry’s late push. Sophie Sivon came on to nail down the save. At the plate, Rogers led the Pirates with two RBIs, while Morgan Winters and Sivon each added a hit. Perry only needed three hits to get the job done.

For Ursuline, Brooke O’Palick drove in a run, and Brooke Burton stayed hot with a 2-for-3 night. Perry heads to Conneaut next for a Wednesday matchup. Ursuline returns home on Wednesday as they host Louisville
