LEMASTERS WALKS IT OFF FOR WELLSVILLE

COLUMBIANA OH- It was the definition of a defensive struggle on Friday night between Columbiana and Wellsville. Neither team scored almost the entire game. Almost being the key word. With seven seconds left in the game Wellsville kicker Casey Lemasters mastered the game winning kick from 25 yards.

Despite their scoring woes, Wellsville had no trouble moving the ball as they finished with 324 total yards. A big chunk of those yards came from the ground game as they ran for 136 yards on 32 carries. Isaiah Greathouse ran for 66 yards on 15 carries.

The Clippers only ran for 92 yards on 26 carries. Collin Schlick was a standout for the Clippers defense, and a big reason the game remained scoreless. He picked off 2 balls on the night, which ended up as big turnovers for the Clippers.

The Clippers will look forward to a Week 6 matchup with Lisbon, while Wellsville will build on the win as they face East Palestine in Week 6.
