LEOPARDS CANT OVERCOME STRONG JACKSON START
MACEDONIA OH- Massillon Jackson came out swinging to drop Louisville 6-0 in Tuesday’s district semifinals, thanks to a fiery first inning that put four runs on the board right off the bat.
For Louisville, Cole Miller stepped in to pitch five innings of relief. The right-hander gave up just three hits and two runs, managing to strike out four and issue a couple of walks. Unfortunately for Louisville, the game had slipped away early. Zach Root, who started the game, faced a tough inning where he gave up four runs—three of them earned—on five hits, and only managed to strike out one batter.
At the plate, Zach Ganser, Bryce Graziani, Owen Burick, and Root each managed to snag a hit for Louisville, but it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback. Defensively, they kept it clean with no errors, and Jakeb Beard was a standout, involved in six plays.
In the end, Massillon Jackson’s early rally was too much for Louisville, setting the tone for a shutout victory and advancing them further into the postseason.
