LEOPARDS COME BACK FROM THE BRINK AND GET TO DAYTON
CANTON OH- Louisville’s wild ride nearly hit a dead end Sunday night in the state semis against top-ranked Garfield Heights. Up 31-29 at the break, the Leopards got smacked with a third-quarter surge and found themselves in a 46-37 hole heading into the fourth. When the Bulldogs stretched it to 48-37, things looked bleak. Then, Louisville slammed the door shut.
The Leopards’ defense went into full lockdown mode, holding Garfield Heights scoreless for the final 7 minutes and 32 seconds. Every possession turned into a battle, and every stop fueled the comeback. When the dust settled, Louisville pulled off a 49-48 stunner to punch their ticket to the state championship.
Brayden Gross led the charge with 24 points, dominating when it mattered most. Beau Siegfried chipped in 10 points, while Avery Andrejcik added 6, helping Louisville claw its way back.
Next up, Louisville heads to Dayton for the OHSAA Division III State Championship. They’ll square off with Cincinnati Aiken on Friday at 1:00, one win away from making history.
