LEOPARDS RUMBLE PAST NEWTON FALLS

Liberty OH- Newton Falls Tigers visiting Liberty Leopards for their first game of the season as Liberty already played week one against Brookfield losing 35-12. Liberty started off strong in their second drive as QB Derek DeMatia threw a 30-yard touchdown to C.J Myers to give the Leopards a 6-0 lead. Newton Falls would answer back to begin the second quarter as QB Nolan Kaehne would throw a bomb to Cameron Brainerd to bring them inside the five. Nolan Kaehne then would run in the endzone with the extra-point will give them the lead 7-6 going into halftime. The leopards would make some great halftime adjustments with their first drive starting Daveyon Williamson in at the wildcat. Williamson would push it down the field and eventually putting it in the endzone to take back the lead 12-7. The next drive, sophomore Jayden Taylor would intercept the ball from Kaehne and take it inside the ten. Williamson would get his second touchdown on that drive to extend their lead 18-7. To start the 4th, Donte Ventures would recover a fumble and return it to eight to give running back, Chris Cunningham a rushing touchdown to give the Leopards a lead of 25-7. The Tigers would score late in the 4th to cut deficit 25-13.

 

Liberty get their first win to set their record (1-1). Newton Falls will fall losing their first game to (0-1). Liberty will meet Labrae next week as Newton Falls will face Crestview.
