GIRARD OH- Girard volleyball has climbed to enter themselves in the conversation of the best teams in our area. The Indians are loaded with star level talent. They carry with them a 1-2 punch on offense that is hard for most teams to defend. One of the heads of that two headed monster is junior Bree Latell. Bree is an outside hitter that brings a unique skill set to her position. What really makes her stand out in the area is the fact that she is left handed. It makes it hard for teams to read the ball when it comes off a different hand. Plus, Latell has an easier time avoiding the pin on the right side attack. Latell is not just dominant on offense, but is among the team leaders in digs. She is taking in as much as she can from Girard’s current senior class so when her senior season comes, she’ll be ready to lead as well. It won’t hurt her ability that she already is a leader on the floor now. Her biggest leadership asset is her positive energy and emotion. She can always keep the team up.
Looking at Latell’s numbers right now she has collected 243 kills on the season. She averages 3.7 kills per set. Her individual hitting percentage is .266. Latell is also second on the team in digs with 153. She adds 23 blocks to her season totals as well.
Bree took the time over the weekend to talk to YSN’s Anthony Hartwig about her tremendous season and career to this point. They talk about playing as much volleyball as she does, how she doesn’t get gassed out, and much more. Check out the latest Girard Volleyball Player Profile only on YSN!
