LIBERTY GETS A BIG WIN ON THE ROAD

BERLIN CENTER OH- In what was a promising matchup Saturday night, between two prominent programs in the area.

The first being The Western Reserve Lady Blue Devils. Despite losing some big seniors last year, Western Reserve still brings back a young, talented roster.

On the other side, The Liberty Lady Leopards are coming into the season as a wildcard. Bringing multiple scoring threats to the table this season, four Lady Leopards had 10+ points on Saturday.

Cianna Smith, Jordan Banks, Aaliyah Foster and Demi Watson all put up double digits in the scoring column.

Western Reserve responded offensively, with Lindsay Jones making multiple shots from distance, as well as success when attacking the rim.

However, once The Lady Leopards took the lead, they stopped Western Reserve’s comeback efforts several times.

Including a different Lady Leopard posing as the scoring leader each quarter. But the defense of Liberty was the key to all the offensive opportunities. Creating turnovers and turning them into points, The Lady Leopards pulled away late to spoil Western Reserve’s home opener.

Winning it close 64-58 against one of The MVAC Scarlett Divisions best.

The road does not get any easier for Liberty, as another great matchup at The Struthers Fieldhouse against The Lady Wildcats is on the slate for Monday, November 29th.

For The Lady Blue Devils, they will have another shot at home, as the welcome in Maplewood Thursday, December 2nd.
