LISBON ROUNDS UP MUSTANGS

VIENNA, OH- Even though The Lisbon Blue Devils gave up three runs in the fourth inning, they still defeated Mathews 9-4 on Saturday.

The big inning for Mathews came thanks to a single by Rath and an error on a ball put in play by Stitt.  Lisbon fired up the offense in the first inning. Brayden Flory grounded out, scoring one run.

Lisbon put up four runs in the seventh inning. The Blue Devil’s big inning was driven by singles by Adam Spencer and Daimen McCormick, by Haiden Colvin, and by Jason Steves.

Tyler Welsh pitched the Devils to victory. The righty allowed three hits and three runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one. Hunter Sturgeon threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Pesa took the loss for Mathews. The bulldog lasted four and a third innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out two and walking zero.

Lisbon was hot offensively with 12 hits in the game. WelshMcCormick, and Spencer all collected multiple hits for the Blue Machine.  McCormick and Welsh each collected three hits to lead Lisbon.

Mathews racked up seven hits on the day. Petak and Mudrey all managed multiple hits for Mathews.
