LISBON TAKES FIRST STEP IN POSTSEASON RUN, BOUNCE LIBERTY

LISBON, OH- The Lisbon Lady Blue Devils were defeated only once in the regular season.  Their 20-1 record is impressive, but as any coach will tell you when it comes to postseason play- “Everybody is 0-0.”

Except, now the Lady Devils are 1-0 after an opening win against Liberty on Wednesday.  McKenna Dailey came the ballpark and meant business on Wednesday, driving in four on two hits to lead Lisbon past Liberty 16-5 on Wednesday. Dailey drove in runs on a double in the first, a double in the second, and in the fourth.

Lisbon earned the victory despite allowing Liberty to score five runs in the fourth inning. Jones Benson, and Weinreber powered the big inning with RBIs.

In the first inning, Lisbon got their offense started when Dailey doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Emma Thompson was the winning pitcher for the Lady Blue Devils. She allowed five hits and five runs over three and a third innings, striking out six. Mya Emmerling threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Fine took the loss for Liberty. She allowed 11 hits and 16 runs over four innings.

The Blue Devils totaled 12 hits in the game. Kenedy VrableJustyce VrableDailey, and Kaity Clark all had multiple hits for LisbonVrable led the team with three hits in three at-bats.
