LOUISVILLE GOES BACK TO BACK OVER THE DUKES
ALLIANCE OH- Louisville poured it on in the third and never looked back, hammering Marlington 12-1 on Wednesday behind a seven-run outburst that cracked the game wide open.
The Leopards came out swinging, putting two on the board in the first, then tacking on a couple more in the second thanks to a walk and a timely knock. But it was the third inning where they really broke things open—stringing together a flurry of hits that brought seven runs across the dish.
On the mound, Brock Leghart kept things under control. He went three innings, gave up just three hits and one unearned run, and picked up three strikeouts. Jimi Crilow came in to slam the door, tossing a clean inning with a K.
Louisville racked up 14 hits in the blowout. Jake Beard led the way with three RBIs and went 2-for-3 at the plate, while several other Leopards chipped in with multi-hit games, keeping the pressure on from top to bottom.
Marlington managed just three hits and a lone run that came off a defensive miscue. Next stop for the red-hot Leopards: a Friday matchup on the road at New Philly.
