LOUISVILLE LEADS THE WAY

AKRON OH- Louisville made the most of their chances Friday night, pulling away in the middle innings to knock off Nordonia 6-1 under the lights at Canal Park.

Scoreless through two, the Leopards got things rolling in the third with a sac fly to take a 1-0 lead. Nordonia answered right back in the bottom half with a double down the line to even it up, but that was about all they’d muster.

In the fifth, Louisville took control for good. A clutch RBI single broke the tie, and moments later, an inside-the-park homer cleared the bases and cracked the game wide open, making it 4-1.

From there, the arms took over. Louisville’s starter went four strong innings, giving up just two hits and one run while striking out six. The bullpen closed it out clean to lock down the win.

At the plate, the Leopards spread the production. Four different hitters picked up knocks, with two different guys driving in a pair. Louisville stayed aggressive on the bases too, swiping five bags and turning a slick double play on defense.

Nordonia scattered a few hits and drew six walks but couldn’t get the big hit when they needed it. Louisville will head to Pittsburgh on Monday for a matchup with Central Catholic, looking to keep the momentum going.
