Lowellville defeated Leetonia 9-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Brandon Simmons got a bears hitter to hit into a fielder’s choice to finish off the game.

The Rockets fired up the offense in the first inning, when Cole Bunofsky doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Lowellville scored four runs in the second inning. Justin Beeson, Bunofsky, Ricky Palumbo, and Francisco Rivera-Ocasio all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Palumbo led things off on the hill for the Rockets . The hurler lasted six innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out 11.

Tino Rivera-Ocasio led Lowellville with two hits in three at bats.
