MAC DOG IS OFF THE CHAIN

NORTH JACKSON OH- There’s nothing better than when you see an athlete emerge out of the shadows to become an incredible leader. Over the last two seasons, Jackson Milton’s Macayle Thornhill has done just that.  She has turned into one of the big names in the area.  Thornhill has worked her tail off and now the time put in is paying off.  As the Blue Jays take their steady rise up the ladder of the MVAC, Thornhill has been a big reason why. The biggest key to her success is the confidence she has grown into inside the circle.  Now Macayle is comfortable to throw any pitch in any count no matter the situation.  She knows exactly what she is capable of, and because of that she never backs down from a challenge.  Macayle’s softball IQ has also shown dramatic growth.  If she had to, you could bet that she would be able to call her own pitchers in the circle. She knows how to scout hitters, and understands the strategy of the game enough to know where to go.

Macayle has put in the numbers on both sides of the plate this season.  As a pitcher in the circle Thornhill has thrown 56.0 IP.  She has a 3-2 record with an ERA of 2.80.  She has struck out 55 and only walked 19.  Thornhill also hits .295 at the plate with 6 doubles, 2 triples, and 14 RBI.

Thornhill was kind enough to take the time to chat with YSN’s Anthony Hartwig to talk about her season and career. They chat about her confidence boost, how much she’s learned about herself over the last two years, and much more. Check out the latest Jackson Milton Softball Player Profile only on YSN!
