MAPLEWOOD MASTERS SEASON SWEEP OF THE BRAVES
KINSMAN OH- Addison Marker was lights-out on Friday, striking out 13 and tossing a complete-game shutout to lead Maplewood past Badger 4-0 on the road.
Marker was in full control all game long, scattering just three hits over seven innings and walking only one. Badger couldn’t get anything going against her, and she set the tone early.
Maplewood wasted no time getting on the board. In the top of the first, a base knock to center and a passed ball helped plate a pair to give the Rockets a quick 2-0 lead—and that was more than enough with Marker dealing.
The Rockets stayed steady at the plate, finishing with 10 hits. Raegan Krieg came up big in the middle of the order, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the way. Marker helped herself with a couple of hits, and both Aleesia Woomer and Claire Urchek added two hits apiece as well.
Defensively, Maplewood played clean ball—no errors, solid fundamentals, and Krieg was a wall behind the plate, handling 14 chances.
Badger got two knocks out of their leadoff hitter, but couldn’t find a way to push anything across against the dominant right-hander. Maplewood returns home Monday to take on Pymatuning Valley.
