MCDONALD BATS COME ALIVE AGAINST RIDGE

MINERAL RIDGE, OH- Mineral Ridge watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 6-1 loss to McDonald on Thursday. McDonald scored on a double by Andrew Cupan in the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Carson Schrader in the second inning.

In the bottom of the first inning, Mineral Ridge tied things up at one. Kyle Bickerstaff singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

McDonald scored four runs in the sixth inning. SchraderAvery Maley, and Cupan powered the big inning with RBIs.

Joey Skowron was credited with the victory for McDonald. The hurler went five innings, allowing one run on five hits, striking out two, and walking one. Zach Shobel threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Mark Bunch took the loss for Mineral RidgeBunch lasted five innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out five.

Evan Erb led Mineral Ridge with two hits in three at-bats.

McDonald scattered seven hits in the game. Cupan and Wyatt Wolford each racked up multiple hits for McDonald.
