MCDONALD BATTLES RAMS AND EARNS SEASON SWEEP

Mineral Ridge stayed in it until the end, but McDonald High School pulled away late in a 4-2 victory on Saturday. The game was tied at two with McDonald batting in the top of the sixth when Lucia Wolford homered on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

The Rams knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the fourth inning. Aaliyah Wall drove in two when Wall doubled.

Bri Callow earned the win for McDonald. The fireballer went seven innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out 14 and walking one.

Haleigh Taylor took the loss for Mineral Ridge. Taylor allowed seven hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out six.

Kaylee Repp, Megan Gerberry, and Wall each collected one hit to lead Mineral Ridge.

McDonald tallied seven hits. Wolford each racked up multiple hits.
