MCDONALD SURVIVES SCARE FROM ROCKETS

LOWELLVILLE OH-

Lowellville lost the lead late in a 3-2 defeat to McDonald on Friday. The game was tied at two with McDonald batting in the top of the fifth when an error scored one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. McDonald pitchers struck out 17, while the Rockets sat down seven.

Lowellville got things started in the first inning when a sacrifice bunt by KC Kelly scored one run.

Bri Callow earned the win for McDonald. Callow went seven innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out 17 and walking zero.

Sammie Kelly took the loss for Lowellville. The pitcher allowed four hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Kelly went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Rockets in hits.

Alivia Morrison led McDonald with two hits in four at bats. Lucia Wolford led the Devils with four stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases.
