MCKINLEY DOUBLES UP LEETONIA ON THE ROAD

LEETONIA, OH-  The Leetonia Bears Softball Team fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 8-4 loss to McKinley on Tuesday. McKinley scored on a wild pitch during J Mcmillen‘s at-bat in the first inning, a stolen base by B Waugaman in the first inning, a walk by A Brendlinger in the second inning, a passed ball during E Whaley‘s at-bat in the second inning, and a passed ball during K Jays‘s at-bat in the second inning.

Leetonia lost despite out-hitting McKinley eight to five.  McKinley opened up scoring in the first inning. Haleigh Brock‘s wild pitch allowed two runs to score for McKinley.  McKinley scored four runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught by McKinley was led by BrendlingerWhaley, and Jays, who each had RBIs in the inning.

B Andrew earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for McKinley. She allowed eight hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking one.  Brock took the loss for Leetonia. She allowed three hits and seven runs over three innings, striking out two.  Brock also went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Leetonia in hits.

McKinley tallied five hits. S Roy and A Rummel all collected multiple hits for McKinley. Rummel led McKinley with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases.
