MIKOS THROWS RAIDERS TO SHUTOUT OF STRUTHERS

CANFIELD, OH – The South Range Raiders baseball team hosted the Struthers Wildcats on Monday night in the first of two games between the clubs in the NE8. The Raiders, with Brandon Mikos on the mound were looking for another win in the conference to stay at the top. The Wildcats, with Alec Grzyb on the mound came in trying to get some confidence by beating South Range. The game stayed scoreless through the 1st inning, but in the bottom half of the 2nd, the Raiders were able to grab the first lead by putting up five runs. After that, it was all South Range, Struthers was unable to get back in the game as the Raiders added one run in the fifth to make it 6-0 and that was where the game would be after seven as Mikos threw a shutout and South Range got yet another dominating victory, 6-0 over the Wildcats.

 

For the Raiders, 4 total hits, 5 RBI’s. Brandon Mikos: 6.2 IP, 17 K’s, 2 hits against, 0 for 3 with 1 RBI. Trey Pancake: 2 for 3 with 2 base hits. Shane Lindstrom: 1 for 2 with 2 RBI’s and 1 base hit.

 

For the Wildcats, 2 total hits. Alec Grzyb: 5 IP, 2 K’s, 5 ER, 4 hits against, 0 for 2 at the plate. Chance Laczko: 1 for 3 with 1 base hit. Ronnie Leonard: 1 for 3 with 1 base hit.

 

Both teams will face off once again to finish off the season series on Tuesday, the 27th at Cene Park. First pitch is at 5 pm. Don’t miss it on YSN!
