Mineral Ridge fought back after falling down by five runs in the fourth inning. The comeback fell just short though, in an 11-10 defeat to Jackson-Milton on Thursday. Mineral Ridge put up ten runs in the failed comeback. Maddie Gerberry, Kelcee Dye, Ana Busse, Megan Haynie, and Maggie Collins picked up RBIs to lead the rally.

The Rams were in front until Jackson-Milton doubled in the seventh inning to cap off a 5 run comeback.

Jackson-Milton fired up the offense in the first inning. Emily Fultz singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

After Jackson-Milton scored one run in the top of the sixth, the Rams answered with one of their own. Jackson-Milton scored when Mia Greco singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Mineral Ridge then answered when Collins doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Mineral Ridge tallied six runs in the fourth inning. Their big inning was driven by a single by Gerberry and a grand slam by Dye, her first home run of her career.

Macayle Thornhill took the win for Jackson-Milton. The hurler lasted three and a third innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out one.

Lily Merolillo took the loss for the Rams. The righthander went three and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on nine hits, striking out two and walking one.

Maddy Ylonen started the game for Mineral Ridge. Ylonen went three and a third innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out five Brena McBeth started the game for Jackson-Milton. The ace allowed eight hits and six runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking one

Mineral Ridge hit one home run on the day. Dye went for the long ball in the fourth inning.

The Rams collected 13 hits. Busse, Collins, Dye, and Aaliyah Wall each racked up multiple hits. Busse led with three hits in four at bats.

Jackson-Milton tallied 14 hits. Greco, Paige Grope, Fultz, and Camelia Blackman each collected multiple hits for Jackson-Milton. Greco went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead the way in hits.
