MOHAWK HANDLES THEMSELVES ON THE ROAD

ELWOOD CITY PA- Mohawk handled business Monday, knocking off Ellwood City 6-2. The Warriors wasted no time getting on the board, cashing in a couple early singles. Mylie Pistorius started the party with an RBI knock in the first.

Mohawk tacked on some insurance late, plating two more runs in the seventh. Lydia Cole cranked a solo shot to left, and Makenna Stewart added an RBI single to put it out of reach.

Reagan Magno picked up the win in the circle, throwing a complete game. She gave up just four hits and two unearned runs while striking out six and walking two.

Amber McQuistion went the distance for Ellwood City, but Mohawk’s bats were too much, banging out 12 hits. Pistorius was a tough out all day, going a perfect 4-for-4. Addy Moskal and Cole each had multi-hit games too. Magno helped her own cause with two RBIs, and the Warriors stayed sharp in the field, even turning a double play.

Ellwood City got hits from Alexis Beck, McQuistion, Rylee Prestopine, and Crystal Folino, but couldn’t string much together. Mohawk gets back after it Wednesday at home against Quaker Valley.
