MOHAWK WINS BATTLE OF THE BORDER

STRUTHERS, OH- Mohawk defeated Champion 10-0 on Thursday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Brady Harman induced a groundout from Micah Nolan to finish off the game for the Warriors.

Mohawk put up five runs in the sixth inning. Jay MichaelWrona, Cooper Vance, Lucas Cummings, Harman, and Aidan Bowser each had RBIs in the big inning.

A single by Tyler Skaggs in the fourth inning was a positive for Champion.

Cooper Vance led the Warriors to victory on the hill. The pitcher went two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and striking out five. Marc Conti and Harman entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Nate Holt took the loss for Champion. The bulldog allowed nine hits and eight runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out two.

Mohawk racked up 14 hits. Conti, Bowser, J.C. Voss, and Harman all managed multiple hits for Mohawk. Bowser and Conti all had three hits to lead the team.
