MOONEY COMES UP SHY AGAINST CCC

STRUTHERS, OH- Cardinal Mooney out-hit Canton Central Catholic 11 to seven, but it wasn’t enough in a 7-3 loss on Saturday.

Mooney opened up scoring in the first inning. Jeff Brenner singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Donley led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Canton Central Catholic. Donley lasted seven innings, allowing 11 hits and three runs while striking out three and walking zero.

Jim Campbell was on the mound for Cardinal Mooney. The hurler lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out one. Brenner threw two innings out of the bullpen.

The Cardinals saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Zach Hyrb, Logan Boyd, Brenner, and Gabe Saunders all had multiple hits for the Cardinals. Saunders, Brenner, Boyd, and Hyrb each collected two hits to lead The team.

Parlin went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Canton Central Catholic in hits.
