MOONEY ESCAPES NAIL BITER WITH SPARTANS

YOUNGSTOWN OH- Mooney girls lacrosse edged out Boardman in a nail-biter Tuesday night, pulling off a 13-12 win in a back-and-forth battle.

Natalie Blasko was a force, piling up 5 goals and owning the draw with 5 controls to keep Mooney in rhythm. Molly Simons and Lexi Italiano each knocked in a pair, while Frankie Cassese and Sophia Rotunno added one apiece and chipped in with an assist each. Arianna Stamp capped the scoring with a goal of her own.

In net, Liv Hunt stood tall with 9 saves, shutting the door when it mattered most. Mooney hits the road tomorrow for a showdown at Canfield.
