MOONEY SHOWS GUTS AGAINST THE LEOPARDS

YOUNGSTOWN OH-  The Mooney girls lacrosse squad gutted out a 10-9 win over Louisville Monday night, leaning on some big-time efforts on both ends of the field.

Molly Simons led the charge with four goals and five ground balls, while Natalie Blasko kept the offense humming with three goals, a helper, and eight draw controls to keep Mooney in possession all night. Sophia Rotunno chipped in two goals, an assist, and five ground balls to keep the pressure on.

Lexi Italiano added a goal and an assist, and Gabby Hardaway punched one into the back of the net to round out the scoring.

In the cage, Liviah Hunt and Ava Weeks split time, combining for 11 saves to lock down the win when it mattered most. Mooney is back in action Wednesday, hosting Green at 6:30 p.m.
