MOONEY SWINGS A STATE BIRTH

ALLIANCE OH- Cardinal Mooney golf has put their heads down and worked all season long. They’ve felt like underdogs, and they’ve bitten back every time they step foot on the course. On Thursday the Cardinals reached an ultimate goal as they locked in their spot to the State Tournament. The finished third in the district with a team score of 347.

Mooney was led by Rocco Turner who shot a 79 on the day. That would have been good enough to make it to state as an individual had Mooney not qualified as a team.  Alek Eckstein shot a solid 83 for Mooney. Dante Turner added to the Mooney score by shooting a 92.  Tim Reardon was right behind him turning in a score of 93.  Joe Zeno rounded out the Mooney scoring shooting a 115.

Mooney advances to the OHSAA Division III State Tournament which will be held at North Star Golf Club in Sunbury.
