MOONEY UPENDS FALCONS ON THE ROAD

AUSTINTOWN, OH- Just a day after Fitch found their groove in a win over South Range, they faced another challenge in a red-hot Cardinal Mooney lineup.  The Cardinals would prove to be the bird of prey on Saturday, crashing the Falcons 8-6.

Junior Fitch backstop, Joe Roth would lead the Falcons at the plate going 3-4, while Mikey Sciortino and Joey Lawrence would supply the RBI for Fitch with two apiece.

For Mooney, Ian Francis would be the big stick in the lineup, going 3-3 with a hit by pitch and 3 runs batted in.  Ethan Shaw would also lead by example with a 3-4 day at the dish.

On the mound, Jim Campbell went 6.1 innings striking out 4, while giving up 4 runs on 9 scattered hits.  Logan Boyd would come in to close out the game and acquire the save.

Aiden Webb went 4 and a third on the bump for Fitch, giving up 5 runs (2 earned) on 8 hits.  Ross Linert would come in out of the bullpen and toss 2 2/3 innings fanning two and walking three.

These two teams are set to meet up later this week for Round 2.
