NEW SEASON STARTS WELL FOR BEAVER
SHENANGO PA- Beaver came out swinging in their season opener, cruising past Shenango 11-3 on Friday.
Shenango struck first in the second, cashing in a walk and a groundout to push two runs across. But Beaver wasted no time flipping the script in the fourth. Olivia Peabody put a ball in play for an RBI, Rhiannon Rabassi ripped a single down the right-field line, and Cali Coups crushed a triple to center before scoring on a wild pitch—just like that, Beaver had the lead, and they never looked back.
Taylor Young handled business in the circle, tossing a complete game. She gave up just two hits and three runs (two earned) while fanning five and walking two. Shenango’s Kennedi Lynn took the loss, going five innings and allowing nine runs (seven earned) on 12 hits.
Beaver’s lineup was locked in, racking up 16 hits. Sami Springman and Bridget Mayo were a deadly duo at the plate, each racking up three knocks. Peabody chipped in a pair of RBIs from the seven-hole, going 1-for-3. Jaedyn Brown, Coups, and Young also had multi-hit games.
Next up, Beaver hits the road to take on South Fayette on Monday.
