NEWTON FALLS OUT SLUGS VIKINGS

LaBrae fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 13-9 loss to Newton Falls on Tuesday. Newton Falls scored on two singles in the first inning, and a single in the second inning.

Despite the loss, LaBrae did collect ten hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately for them, Newton Falls had 12 hits on the way to victory.

Newton Falls got on the board in the first inning when Cunningham singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

LaBrae tallied four runs in the seventh inning. The Vikings batters contributing to the big inning included Stephen Boone, Dylan Simpson, and Landen Kiser, all driving in runs.

Newton Falls scored four runs in the second inning.

Jordan McCartney was on the hill for LaBrae. McCartney allowed five hits and six runs over one inning, striking out three. Riley Davidson and Ashton Dunbar entered the game as relief, throwing three innings and three innings respectively.

Simpson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Vikings in hits.

Newton Falls collected 12 hits. Three batters collected multiple hits for the Tigers.
