NEWTON FALLS SETS THE TONE

MINERAL RIDGE OH- Newton Falls came in to Tuesday night’s game at Mineral Ridge riding high off their first win of the season.  They used that momentum to shoot out of a cannon and score the first 14 points of the game. After that, they didn’t feel any pressure the rest of the way to a 75-45 victory.

Alex Pennington hit the first five shots he took on his way to a game high 19 points to lead the Tigers.  Mac Haidet chipped in 17 points to the Tigers offense, while Dom Greathouse was the third Tiger in double figures with 14.   The Rams were lead by Ian Erb who scored 11 for the Rams, and chipped in 6 boards.  Trey Rigley contributed 7 points to the Rams cause.

Newton Falls is now 2-0 on the season and will look ahead to a game against Heartland Christian at home on Friday.  Mineral Ridge will have their first road game of the year on Friday traveling to LaBrae.
