NILES PEPPERS WILDCATS

NILES, OH- Tuesday was a long day for Struthers Wildcats, falling to McKinley 16-1.

Struthers got things moving in the first inning. Jared Laczko singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.  McKinley knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first when error scored one run for McKinley.

Niles pulled away for good with seven runs in the second inning. In the second errors plagued Struthers, but it was a Nick Guarnieri single on a 3-0 count, scoring one run, and Ken Flanigan grounded out, scoring another.  Chase Sudzina drew a walk with the bases juiced that scored one run, and Joe Gallo singled on a 1-2 count, cashing in two runs.

Dillon Weida earned the win for McKinley. He allowed seven hits and one run over five innings, striking out seven and walking zero.  Anthony Monaco took the loss for Struthers. He surrendered nine runs on four hits over two innings, striking out four.

Rob Tomko went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Struthers on offense.

McKinley racked up 11 hits in the game. Gallo and Zack Leonard all managed multiple hits for McKinley. Gallo led McKinley with four hits in four at-bats.
