O-H….3-O

SALEM, OH-  It was a continuation of success for Team Ohio in the 39th Annual Penn-Ohio All-Star Game Presented by Sprint that was held at Reilly Stadium on Thursday.  Team Ohio blasted out of the gates to a 10-0 lead before Pennsylvania would even know what happened, and hang on to win 22-20.  It was Ohio’s third consecutive win against the Keystone Kids.

It’s no surprise to anyone who has followed South Range that a couple Raiders would play significant roles in the game.  Mathias Combs, and Peyton Remish would walk away as respective MVP’s on offense and defense for the scarlet and grey.  Combs snagged a pair of touchdown passes (34, 62), and Remish was instrumental on defense.  In typical Peyton Remish fashion, he was also able to close out the game for Team Ohio when Coach Yeagley needed to move the sticks the most.

Salem’s Mitch Davidson, who split snaps with TJ DeShields, went 8 of 14 for 119 yards with a touchdown and two picks.  DeShields went 6 for 8 for 71 total yards, with a touchdown and an interception to his credit.

Also a big contributor early and often, Crestview’s Dakota Stratton, and East Palestine’s Vinny Delaroza who defensively made plays all evening.  Stratton blocked a punt early for Ohio that put his team in great field position.

With the win, Ohio cuts Pennsylvania’s overall series lead in half to 26-13.  Next year’s event will be held at Geneva College and can be seen LIVE on YSN.
