ORANGE FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH ROB SENOR

By Noah Ricks

Orange Lions football coach Rob Senor exemplifies the true meaning of trusting the process and working from the ground up. As he pushes his team to a playoff run in 2024, the community of Pepper Pike has been able to witness not just the struggles, but the successes that came as a result of those struggles, as well.

To say Senor’s first year was rough was an understatement, as the Lions did not win a single game in 2022 at an 0-10 mark. However, the seeds only grew in the foundation from there as he now sees a team that is 5-2 and on the verge of making the postseason for the first time in six years. The team currently sits #11 in the Division IV, Region 13 rankings as they are looking to make a statement in the final three games of the regular season.

A native of the Cleveland area, Senor graduated from Brush High School, and then The Ohio State University. His coaching journey began all the way back in 1999 while studying in Columbus, as he got his first gig at Dublin Coffman. He then moved back to the area in 2001, taking a job at Shaker Heights, which then led to becoming part of the Orange coaching staff in 2014 before taking the head job in 2022.

Coach Senor has instilled a ton of confidence into the Pepper Pike community as he takes big responsibilities that trickle all the way down to the Little League programs in the school district. With a general that is Rob Senor, the Lions have been set on the road for success in the years to come.
