PALESTINE CONTINUES IMPRESSIVE WEEK

LISBON, OHIO – In a comeback attempt, East Palestine was able to fend off the Beaver Local win to secure a 6-4 win on a wet Friday evening of baseball.

Beaver Local scored four runs in the unsuccessful comeback attempt on a double by Jacob Blakeley and a groundout by Wyatt Johnson in the fifth inning, and a double by Hunter Warrick in the sixth that scored two runs in each inning.

East Palestine got their scoring started in the first with one run on a Phoenix Marvin grounded out that brought home a run. The Bulldogs then plated four runs in the fifth inning with Marvin, Kyler Bourne, and Alex Cannon each driving in runs during the inning. East Palestine shortstop Patrick Bender swung a hot stick at the plate, leading the Bulldogs with three hits in four plate appearances. Cale Moraski pitched East Palestine to victory on the bump, going seven innings, allowing four runs on two hits and striking out 11 Beaver batters.

East Palestine will have the weekend off and will tangle with a conference opponent in Southern on Monday night. First pitch between the Bulldogs and Indians from Salineville is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
