PANTHERS PROVE TO BE TOO MUCH FOR MOONEY

Cardinal Mooney watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 12-6 loss to Perry on Tuesday. Perry scored on a home run by Shayla Turner, an error, and a double by Olivia Irwin in the first inning.

Cardinal Mooney collected ten hits and Perry had 15 in the high-scoring affair.

The Cardinals notched four runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught came from a home run by Alaina Scavina, a groundout by Delaney Savaet, and by Delanie Olesh.

Perry scored four runs in the seventh inning. Perry’s big inning was driven by singles by Turner and Kelsie Bragg.

Paige Day toed the rubber for Perry. The hurler surrendered four runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out four.

Scavina led things off in the pitcher’s circle for Cardinal Mooney. Scavina lasted three innings, allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out four and walking zero. Alaina Francis threw four innings out of the bullpen.

The Cardinals smacked one home run on the day. Scavina had a long ball in the sixth inning.

Cardinal Mooney racked up ten hits in the game. Parker Sheehan, Scavina, and Marissa Bowman each managed multiple hits for the Cardinals. Bowman, Scavina, and Sheehan each collected two hits to lead the team.

Perry scattered 15 hits in the game. Turner, Bragg, and Irwin all had multiple hits for Perry. Turner led Perry with four hits in five at bats.
