PATELLIS TOSSES NO-NO; CANFIELD SCULPTS CLAY

CANFIELD, OH- Canfield Junior Michael Patellis was brilliant on the mound on Saturday, as Patellis threw a no-hitter to lead Canfield past Clay 14-0.

Senior, AJ Havrilla led the Cardinals to victory by driving in four runs. Havrilla went 3-for-3 at the plate. Havrilla drove in runs on a double in the second, a double in the fifth, and a single in the sixth.

Canfield put up seven runs in the sixth inning. The rally was led by singles by Zain Jadallah, Havrilla, Ethan Prout, Ben Slanker, and Patellis, a walk by David Murphy, and a fielder’s choice by Jack Davis.

Patellis pitched Canfield to victory. The right-hander lasted six innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out ten.

Canfield tallied 13 hits. Havrilla, Patellis, Slanker, Logan Cayavec, and Jadallah each racked up multiple hits for the Cardinals Havrilla went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the way in hits.
