PEAKS AND VALLEY; EAGLES LOCK UP LISBON

LIBERTY, OH-In a game packed with explosive moments, Valley Christian took control early and held off a scrappy Lisbon squad for a 34-20 win. The Eagles leaned heavily on their star playmaker, who accounted for all of their touchdowns, both on the ground and through the air.

First Quarter: Valley Christian Strikes Fast
Valley Christian wasted no time, jumping out to a 13-0 lead. Their offense got going with a 10-yard TD pass from Deion Miller to get the scoreboard rolling. Then, an 84-yard breakaway rush from Ja’Sean Lindsey gave Valley Christian a comfortable two-score cushion by the end of the first.

Second Quarter: Lisbon Responds, but Valley Stays Strong
The Eagles extended their lead to 20-0 early in the second, thanks to a Deion Miller to Jerrell Miles 82-yard pass that found the end zone. Lisbon finally answered with Wyatt Newbold grabbing a 29-yard TD pass from Grant Minor to cut the deficit to 20-6. The PAT attempt was unsuccessful, and Valley Christian maintained control heading into the half.

hird Quarter: Back-and-Forth Battle
Lisbon came out hot after the break, with Minor connecting on a 16-yard TD pass to Luke Kraft, and then Ashton Hinchliffe powered in a 2-yard rush to make it 20-14, inching Lisbon closer. However, Valley Christian responded quickly, with another rushing touchdown from Lindsey, extending the lead to 28-14. Hinchliffe wasn’t done, though, as he found the end zone once more for Lisbon to bring it to 28-20. The Eagles, though, added to their lead with a 1-yard TD and two-point conversion to make it 28-20 heading into the final quarter.

Fourth Quarter: Valley Christian Seals It
The Eagles put the final nail in the coffin with a 20-yard TD pass from Miller to Miles, securing the 34-20 victory. Lisbon fought hard but couldn’t close the gap, as Valley Christian’s big plays were the difference.
